The perfecto is a century old thick leather jacket manufactured by the American clothing company Schott NYC. The Spanish name perfecto was chosen after the Cuban cigars Irvin Schott used to smoke. With its high waist and diagonal zipper it is originally a jacket tailored for motorcycle riding.

Its popularity among the American and British youth from the “greaser” subculture in the late 1950s and 1960s came after Marlon Brando wore one in the Wild One in 1953. It then became a DIY uniform for punks and rockers when groups like the Ramones or the Sex Pistols started to wear perfectos covered with pins, clasps, chains and sometimes paint. Noir Basic designs its sober and sophisticated version of this all time classic.
