The café racer movement appeared as a British counterculture during the 60s. These bikers where named after the high-speed bikes they geared-up to ride in “record race” on the newly built highways.
The “caff” is the poor European version of the American choppers custom culture. These youngsters teamed up in groups like the Rockers or the Ton-Up Club, having a taste for Rockabilly music and the ambition to reach the speed of 100 miles-per-hour (also known as “the ton”). The original member of the movement used to decree what brand to wear and what to despise. The American “greasers” and the British rock n’ roll influenced their black and brown leather style.
This garment is a tribute to those post-war rebels.
