Noir Basic was founded in 2008 when three young creative minds joined forces to create a clothing line that would fit their desire to wear cool streetwear jackets of outstanding quality. They imagined high-end and sophisticated versions of everyday basics.
The creators, Anthony, Marc and Romain all have different backgrounds. But they have this in common: they grew up in Paris in the 80s and 90s, daydreaming on imported American goods like Jordans and Starters, while being confronted to the Parisian cult of haute couture and luxury. Yet, their artistic influences are very eclectic: hip-hop, punk rock, classic movies from the 1950s and 1960s, midnight movies, street art, photography and above all the French culture going from Moliere to Cezanne and from Godard to Daft Punk.
They progressively forged a taste for high quality French handcrafted products like those made by the emblematic Hermes brand. Understanding the value of the “made in France” label, Noir Basic designs everlasting garments influenced by vintage styles and American basics with a Japanese-like attention to details. Whether it is hidden or displayed, every item of clothing reveals surprises. And extreme refinement in the slightest details is a particularity of Noir Basic products. The entire line is handcrafted in some of the most prestigious French clothing manufactures paying tribute to the artisan craftsmanship that is an essential pillar of the Noir Basic philosophy
In addition, every Noir Basic piece allies the perfection of superior workmanship to the noblest materials. These very high standards guarantee an extraordinary longevity of our products. Among the luxurious materials we use to embody our ideas, we find the refined leathers and skins produced by one of the oldest French tannery, such as washed lamb, alligator, deer, ostrich or stingray. We also use some of the finest cottons and Japanese denims, 925 sterling silver ornaments imagined by one of the most creative young Parisian jeweler. And we discreetly line our outerwear products with sober natural silk, or should you prefer, colorful linings made out of gracious scarves by a famous silk manufacturer from Lyon.
Noir Basic therefore operates a fusion between vintage, street wear, basics, the highest quality materials and French expertise in luxury.
